Add Clients & Contacts on-the-fly with our Mobile Apps

If you're a keen follower of our Accelo Mobile Apps, you might have noticed a couple of new additions get pushed through from the app/play store over the last couple of days:

  • Android: Client and Contact are now available in the quick-create (blue plus) menu
  • iOS: Clients and Contacts have a "Create" button in the Modules menu

It might not "seem" like much, but the flexibility of Accelo - with lots of room for custom fields, categories and more - meant it isn't just a "one size fits all" interface to support. In addition, the team have worked hard to put the scaffolding in to make it easier to add more quick-create options for creating new Sales, Tickets and more in the app.

Creating a new Client

The experience of adding a new company/client in the mobile app is now available and streamlined. When you click on the "plus" icon in the app you'll see two new options (along with the existing Timer and Activity options), and by clicking on Client (or whatever you've renamed the "Company" module to be) you'll get our new "Add" screen for clients.

The Create a Client screen allows you to enter the client's name as well as other key details like Website, Phone and Status, while other detail you might not know or need yet is hidden away - like the Client Division, Account Manager(s) and General Comments.

We've also done a lot of work ensuring all your custom fields - like date fields, select fields and segmentation fields (like Industry or Category) are available, so long as they are configured as "Required" fields.

As you're filling out the New Client form, you can also create contacts to associate with the client. In a similar streamlined fashion, this contact form focuses on the essential details + any required custom fields you might have configured for the Contacts module.

 Creating a new Contact

If you're pretty certain the Client already exists in Accelo, or you're just wanting to create an individual contact (no client/company association), you'll want to try the New Contact option. This comes powered with an in-line search to help you find the existing client where applicable.

More to come..

While these improvements are sure to be welcome for any of our road-warrior clients, we're looking forward to bringing more time-saving features to our mobile apps in the new few months, including the ability to create other objects, update status and even get push notifications when key things happen in Accelo. Keep an eye on our blog for updates!
