As we continue to work hard on delivering on our promise of making it easier for you to run your business, we’re excited to announce our latest upgrade to the Projects Module: Important Dates.
Projects often have multiple phases or stages until they’re complete, and while externally the due date is important, internally, there are many important dates along the way that matter to you and your team as you make strides forward, completing tasks and milestones to move to the next phase. Being able to set those dates and customize them as things progress or priorities change is important - you need a platform that works the way you do, one that can help keep everyone focused and accountable.
With this upgrade, now you can always be watching the clock, keeping your team, resources, and deliverables in check with more customization that fits your workflow. The new Important Dates feature allows you to choose the key date that should stand-out within a project, and intelligently pick the most important one, depending on the type and status of the project.
Easily see if the Key Date is mapped but a value isn’t set, or if no key date is mapped to a status.
A project with a hard deadline (i.e. a go-live date) with a “go-live” custom field attached to it - that custom field could be linked as the Key Date field, and it’ll be highlighted for everyone working on the project while its status is active. Or;
Making it easy for project or account managers to see a follow-up date when the project has been delivered. Or;
When a project is waiting for feedback/contributions from a third-party (like a council or state authority since they often have guidelines or benchmarks for response times based on the complexity of the project that range around 30-90 days). This kind of complexity scale could be configured into a custom formula field in Accelo to automatically estimate the benchmark date - so your team would know when to start harassing this third-party player for being overdue!
Select the core dates that make sense for your project
Choose which custom date fields you want you and and your team to see as you work
Pick a date field that’ll be your key date for each status for that particular project
