To improve security and ensure the email delivery services provided by Accelo to our users - via the campaigns module and through the sending of activities - we've recently introduced a new step that users need to complete before they can send emails: verifying their address.
You'll know you still need to verify your email address if you see a new Orange bar across the top of your Accelo account. Simply click on the link at the top and then check your email inbox - if you're not sure which address the verification email is going to, go to the "Account" link in the top right under your avatar or initials.
You'll get an email with a simple link in it - simply click on the link and you'll be verified for good!
The main reason for this change is security and keeping bad actors out of Accelo. While we haven't had any issues with spammers or other folks using Accelo to send spam emails (or anything else bad for that matter), we wanted to make sure that we didn't become a magnet for anyone doing the wrong thing and thus harming our honest, valuable users who want to make sure the emails they send from Accelo get to their destination and don't get caught up as spam-flagged collateral damage.
The reason for making the change is that we're making a number of changes now and in the months ahead to make it easier for new users to trial or sign up for Accelo accounts. Until now all accounts have required a "high touch" involvement from our sales and client success teams to even get into their account, but this approach has caused friction and delays and we've decided to be more real-time and accommodating. This openness however means someone up to no good could use a fake address and send emails out - which is why we need to make sure all user email addresses are verified going forward.
