As promised in our sneak-peek post at the end of April, we've just shipped some improved timesheet reporting functionality. Now, instead of viewing the time spent on a staff member by staff member basis, you can also see time grouped by client, project or issue!
Firstly, to access this new reporting feature, you can use the standard "Timesheet Report" link in the primary navigation.
From there, your default view will be the normal timesheet report for a particular staff member, however, if you look towards the top middle, you can see a drop down list, and then if you select "Clients", you'll be able to type in a client's name. As you type, Accelo will automatically find matching clients and show a list of them - select one and we'll show you a report of all of the hours you have spent working for that client over a given time period. You can then scroll down from this screen to see where the billable and non-billable time is spent, including individual time logs (diary entries).
If you want to see the work already done by all of your company on all projects, you can choose "Projects" (or "Jobs" or whatever you have renamed this module) in the drop down list. From there, you can see the jobs grouped by the client you've done the work for, and dive deep into the job, the component, and even see the individual work logs.
Finally, if you want to examine time spent on issues/support, you can select "Issues" (or "Tickets" or what you have renamed this module) in the drop down list. From there, you can see the issues grouped by the client you've done the work for, and drill down into the issue to see the individual time entries too.Â
What's around the corner for this feature? The ability to export the data in the report to a spreadsheet - where you might use special tools for further custom reporting, or for forwarding to a client for the full break-down of a project invoice.
