Accelo is great at helping you capture and keep track of the work you do. While this is super easy when you schedule your work in Accelo, we're also realistic enough to know that old habits die hard, and there's going to be a bunch of stuff you only have in your Google or Outlook calendar.
A few weeks ago we introduced a new feature that allows you to see external appointments in your work screen and save your time against tasks, sales, projects or issues. But we still had a gap - what about recurring appointments?
Well, today we've got great news - now we also support the importing of recurring appointments.
If you’re a heavy user of recurring events, using them to remind you of meetings, monthly or even daily, this will help you to more easily capture any billable (or non-billable) time.
For example, that weekly staff meeting, or client report preparation, every monday at 10am, will appear on your Work and Schedule screens.
The enhancement supports all formats of recurring events - daily, weekly, monthly and yearly, plus you can create your event for a specific day each month (every second Tuesday) or simply every other weekday (Monday, Wednesday, & Friday).
You don't need to change a thing. You're recurring events will now automatically appear on your schedule and work screen.
If my event is never ending how does Accelo know when to stop scheduling it?
Well, there is no point duplicating an event from Google in our database when it already exists in Google. Not only will it fill up our databases needlessly, but it’ll also slow down the speeds of how Accelo operates. To combat this, we’ve decided to import the first 10 or so events that recur per series. Every new day an event will be added to the end of the list, so you shouldn’t even notice the difference.
What about all my existing events?
Any events that are already existing in your Google calendar will have to be recreated or edited for Accelo to pick up the change. This is great, because you get a real opportunity to decide which recurring events you want imported into Accelo as we won’t pull any events that you don’t edit. Although any new events will be pulled.
