If you’re a WorkflowMax user, you’ve no doubt heard the news that Xero is retiring WorkflowMax in June 2024.

This news is close to my heart. Chris Spence and Gavin George (the WorkflowMax co-founders) and I share parallel stories, and visions, for our relative software platforms. Like me, these two gentlemen knew how hard it was to run a professional services business, so they built a solution themselves. And they started the company not far from where we started Accelo — they're from New Zealand, and we're from Australia.

Chris and Gavin founded WorkflowMax in 2007, and it went on to become one of the leading work management solutions in Australasia. The platform was named Xero Solution Partner of the Year in 2011 and acquired by Xero in 2012.

The Accelo team has great respect for our peers in the professional services software space, especially those that have been around as long as WorkflowMax. While we understand that more than 10 years after their Xero acquisition, the product doesn't align with Xero's priorities, we also understand this is now a stressful project for their busy users to add to their to-do lists. Since our mission is to help professional services businesses succeed, we feel a sense of obligation to help the many WorkflowMax refugees overcome this unexpected challenge and come out the other side of it stronger.

The good news is that Accelo is almost a perfect replacement (and, we think, update) platform for professional services businesses needing to manage their client work in the cloud with excellent Xero integration. To help make the transition easy on your cash flow, we've also got a special offer for all WorkflowMax users who sign up with Accelo by July 31st, 2023.

Fortunately, we've had many clients upgrade from WorkflowMax to Accelo over the years as their needs changed. We understand the journey well, including what it takes to migrate your data and optimize your workflows. If you love WorkflowMax, you'll love that Accelo:

  • Has a strong Xero integration: The work you do and invoices you create in Accelo immediately sync with Xero. Changes quickly sync in the other direction, too.
  • Features powerful built-in automations: Enjoy convenient email syncing, straightforward time tracking, automated retainer management and more.
  • Offers accurate real-time reporting: You need to know about time and money if you want to be successful. Like WorkflowMax, meaningful data is built into the core of Accelo — no plugins or third-party hacks required.

People who've upgraded to Accelo tell us they love the power of our platform, along with the ability to manage more than just projects in one place. Accelo’s six connected products unite every stage of the client journey, so you can zoom out from the day-to-day and make better, more informed decisions about your business.

Our team is here and ready to show you how Accelo can serve as the comprehensive solution you need as Xero sunsets WorkflowMax. And to minimize the time you're spending on two systems during migration, we're offering free access to Accelo until July 31st, 2023 for current WorkflowMax users. Meaning, the earlier you transition, the more you access for free! Plus, you'll get 25% off implementation/migration services to make the transition even smoother.*
